Saturday – peak 2 (of 6) – Snowdon
Our Saturday actually started on Friday (as we had no sleep!) by arriving at Heysham (return from the Isle of Man) at 10:30pm. Arrived in Llanberis around 2:30am by minibus – effectively little or no sleep for any of the walkers. Following an hour or so of sleep (of sorts) the team had to get up for a safety brief and kit check at 4am. With no clouds in the sky, the team set off up Snowdon – literally couldn’t be better weather. The tough climb to the top (3560 feet) was rewarded with some stunning views of North Wales, including Anglesey (see photos). Team arrived back at challenge base just after 8:30am – now 2 down and 4 to go! Now in the safe hands of Gareth and Roy (our drivers, without whom we couldn’t undertake the challenge). As I write this, we’re heading out of North Wales along the A55 – next stop peak 3 (Scafell Pike).
